| Woodlands
Meed - A new Foundation Special School Click
here to close Woodlands Meed is a new foundation
special school for pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties
and complex special needs, including Autistic Spectrum Condition and
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. We will also be a Specialist
School for Communication and Interaction. Woodlands Meed will have two
sites: a new purpose built school building for pupils aged 2-14 and
the current Newick House site will be refurbished to make Woodlands
Meed College site for 14-19 year old students. We are now able to recruit
additional teaching staff to join the team when the school opens in
September 2012. Class sizes will vary from 4-13 pupils and each class
will have a team of support staff working alongside the teacher. Woodlands
Meed will offer training and development in special needs approaches
to all staff. Superhero Day It is Newick House Superhero Day on 25th May. Students and staff can dress up as superheroes (donation of 50p) and there will be a cake sale - in aid of Chestnut Tree House. 18th-25th May is Children's Hospice Week and our day will help raise vital funds for the only children's hospice in Sussex. |

Printer Cartridge Recycling Class Y10-11S are starting up a mobile phone and printer cartridge recycling scheme which will not only raise money for Chestnut Tree House, but also helps protect the environment - details to follow shortly! |
