Newick
House School has been developing its out of school hours
provision over the last 6 years and as well as the original
Girls' Group (funded by Social and Caring Services) we now
offer a range of after school clubs and lunchtime activities.
After school clubs are currently:
- ACTIVE
CLUB - Mondays. This club finsishes by 5.30
- THURSDAY
CLUB-Thursdays with 3 elements 1)for younger children
to provide family respite, 2) Boys Group and 3 incorporating
Girls group) This club finishes by 5.30
- Sama
Karate offer a club to our pupils each Tuesday. The pupils
pay for each session as they attend rather several weeks
ahead. This session usually lasts an hour and starts at
approximately 3.45 pm

of School Activities
The Park Centre Park Centre, 60 Park Road Burgess Hill
Monday 6.30pm - 8.30pm: Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award training
(age 15 years +).
Tuesday 7pm - 9pm: Open Club for school years 7 and 8. Arts,
sports, crafts, chill out and chat.
Wednesday 6.30pm - 8.30pm (age 14 years +) Duke of Edinburgh
Bronze Award training.
Thursday 12pm - 4pm Connexions Careers Drop In (appointments
available)
Thursday 6pm - 8pm Members Committee and Locality Youth
Forum ?Thursday 7pm - 9pm (13 - 19 years) Dance Workshop
Friday 7pm - 9pm Friday Night Project 13 + -chill out and
chat, arts and crafts, sport, music, dance, drama, games,
food & more! Pool table, table tennis, and internet
available.

Kanagroos

Kangaroos was established by a group of parents in 1993
to run out of school activities in Mid Sussex for children
with severe leaning disabilities. There were no activities
in the area suitable for special needs children to attend
and they believed that their children needed and deserved
activities that would be designed to cater for their very
special requirements.
Kangaroos run a range of recreational and leisure activities
in Mid Sussex for children and young people from 6 to 30.
All our members have learning disabilities and many have
additional behavioural, physical or sensory problems, as
well as a number with Autism and ADHD.They
organise the following recreational activities:
AllSports: After School Sports Sessions. From ages 6 to
19
- ASP:
Adult Support Programme, training and practical experience
- BreakAway:
Weekly Saturday Clubs and Playschemes for ages 13 to 19
- DaysOut:
Exciting trips out in the holidays for ages 13 to 19
- Dig
In: Horticultural project to grow plants and vegetables
- Family
Days: Trips out during half terms and holidays
- No
Limits project providing support to enable young adults
16-30 to have a varied and fulfilling social life
- PALS:
Weekly Saturday Clubs and Playschemes for ages 6 to 19

Club 25+, run twice monthly

Worthing
kiDS
This is a Down's Syndrome support group for babies and children
under 12, and their families. They meet during each school
holiday, so that the kids can have fun, while the parents/carers
get a chance to relax and have a chat. For more information

M8s@Horsham Youth Centre
This youth club is for 13 -19 year olds who have additional
needs and disabilities. Meets every Wednesday evening in
term time from 7 - 9pm.

Bunny
Hoppers
A special group for under 5's with disabilities or special
needs and their parents, that meets on Sunday afternoons
and at holiday time at Springboard House.
Buddy Scheme
A scheme designed to provide access to leisure and recreation
facilities for teenagers with disabilities and special needs
during the week, at weekends and holiday time with volunteers
of their own age group.
Both of these groups are part of the Springboard Project.

SASBAH
Youth Club
This youth club is primarily for young people who require
extra support and encouragement to participate in social
activities. It is for young people aged 11 - 25 and takes
place at the Flintstone Centre, East Street, Littlehampton
between 7pm and 9pm.
